This category concerns The "Russian Exarchate of North and South America", which existed from 1933 until 1970.
It existed in part to maintain a canonical link between Russian Orthodox parishes in the western hemisphere and the Patriarchate of Moscow within the USSR. The politics of the time ensured that the exarchate and the government of the USSR worked in a sort of harmony.
