This periodical was the successor to "The Tlingit Herald". The latter was produced by Deacon Lev Puhalo (later Archbishop Lazar (Puhalo)) while he was serving in the State of Alaska, USA. The former began to be produced after 1980, once he had moved to [British Columbia], [Canada]. In some ways, this publication was a successor to "The Canadian Orthodox Messenger" that was long-previously produced by Bishop Arseny (Chahovtsov), and effectively a sort of predecessor of "The Canadian Orthodox Messenger" that began to be produced again in 1989 by the Archdiocese of Canada.
